Mathew Peters

Mathew Peters is a Director of Hospitality at LV Collective, where he serves as the executive chef and creative force behind Prelude, a cocktail and small plates lounge in downtown Austin. He will also lead the creative direction and execution of LV’s restaurant concepts.

Before joining LV, Mathew spent over a decade honing his craft in the country’s top kitchens. He trained under renowned chef Thomas Keller, working at Per Se in New York before becoming Executive Sous Chef at The French Laundry in Napa Valley. In 2017, he became the first American to win gold at the Bocuse d’Or, the most prestigious culinary competition in the world. He has since continued to mentor chefs and contribute to the broader culinary community.

Mathew is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, with early experience in restaurants across Texas and Pennsylvania. His career has been defined by an unwavering commitment to excellence, creativity, and leadership in the kitchen.

Originally from Meadville, Pennsylvania, Mathew now lives in Austin with his wife and their two dogs. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the city’s vibrant food scene, supporting emerging chefs, and spending time with family.
